ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH (John Denver, Mike Taylor)

This song just exudes what I'm about. I've felt the “high” you get when you're out in the wild places with nature, or when you're looking up at the sunshine filtering down through the leaves in a stand of aspens, or out among the high mountain meadows where the columbine grass has taken a stand. There are waterfalls, wildlife everywhere, and serenity of spirit to be enjoyed in almost every vista. I turn into a different person when I'm with the mountains! There's nothing more compelling to me than to be in that setting where the earth just seems to touch heaven. Although the song is taken from John's own personal experience, everyone the world over knows what this song means because they too have lived it, smelled it, tasted it, and experienced it.
